26 weeks and officially a punching bag!

I am now 26 weeks and this baby is on a MOVE! Last night we were laying in bed and I was on my back. I had my hand on my stomach and felt the baby's whole body rolling around. It was incredible. I pulled Jeff's hand over to feel it too (because he doesn't just jump to feel my belly when the baby moves and it seems like when he does, the baby STOPS moving or he gets a little kick and then nothing) and he felt it. It was an awesome feeling. I wish I had the light on to see my belly moving, because I am sure it looked pretty cool too, but of course we were getting ready to sleep and THAT is when Charlie wakes up to play. :)

How far along: 26 weeks
Total weight gain: I don't know and right now I like it that way
Maternity clothes: Always, and ready for some SPRING clothes. I am tired of cold.
Sleep: Good, but definitely waking up very hot now. I think it is time to say goodbye to flannel sheets until winter returns (though it seems like it hasn't left yet).
Best moment of this week: Either the crib and dresser set up in the nursery, or this baby rolling around like crazy yesterday!
Miss anything: Wine and warm weather (but I know I will be hating warm weather soon too!)
Movement: All the time and LOVING it
Food cravings: Fruit and ROOT BEER!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really... just still don't eat a lot of meat
Gender: Didn't find out! It will be a surprise!
Labor signs: Too early, but having braxton hicks contractions here and there. Nothing major.
Belly button in or out: Still in but definitely looking different
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy!
Looking forward to: Decorating the nursery!

Why I am defending Kim Kardashian

I want to preface by saying I am NOT the biggest Kim Kardashian fan, but I do feel bad for her right now and will defend her. We were at the grocery store yesterday (spending way too much money) and at checkout there were tabloids and magazines with her picture plastered all over. The giant print stretched across the pages accused her of massive weight gain during pregnancy.

Being pregnant myself, my weight is what I am most self conscious about, especially since I worked so hard to lose so much weight just before I got pregnant. NO woman, not even a rich and famous one, deserves her picture plastered all over tabloids discussing how much weight she has gained. It is nobody's business but that woman and her doctor.

25 weeks and still baking!

In a way, this pregnancy is FLYING by and in a way, my due date can't come soon enough! We had lots of fun and exciting this happen since my last update. We bought the crib, and we painted the dresser and changed the hardware on it, AND we put together the crib. (When I say "we" I mostly mean Jeff, though I did help to paint!) The crib is in the baby's room already. The dresser will be up there today after family visits because Jeff will have help moving it up there. Way too heavy for me to help carry it upstairs.

I also had another Dr appt yesterday. It was good. I am measuring 2 weeks ahead right now, so if at my next appt I am still measuring ahead, I may get another ultrasound. I can't help but hope that I am because I would love to see baby again! My next appointment is my last monthly appointment, and then I move to every 2 weeks! I can't believe I am there already! Getting closer and closer!

Funny story... the baby app on my phone said that if Jeff were to lay his head on my belly in a quiet room, he may be able to hear the heartbeat of the baby. We tried it the other day, and when Jeff put his head on my belly, the baby kicked him in the head! It was hilarious! :)

Here are the questions... I am going to change a few, since it is obvious that I am showing now.

How far along: 25 weeks
Total weight gain: I don't know... the doctor didn't tell me at my appt yesterday and I refuse to weigh myself at home
Maternity clothes: Always, and ready for some SPRING clothes. I am so tired of wearing layers and coats! Everything feels so uncomfortable!
Sleep: Pretty good
Best moment of this week: It is a tie between hearing the baby's heartbeat at my appt yesterday, and Jeff getting kicked in the head by the baby. :)
Miss anything: Wine... I just had a tough week and could have used a glass to relax
Movement: All the time and LOVING it
Food cravings: Fruit for sure
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really
Gender: Didn't find out! It will be a surprise!
Labor signs: Too early!
Belly button in or out: Still in, but very weird feeling, haha!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy!
Looking forward to: Working on the nursery now that most of the big furniture is here

24 weeks... VIABLE!

The minute I found out I was pregnant I started counting down to 24 weeks... when I knew the baby would be viable with medical attention. Now, that does in NO WAY mean I want this baby to come out yet! Charlie needs to stay in there and cook a while longer! But it really makes me feel better knowing that, if something happens, Charlie can be helped and has a chance.

And as I sit here typing this, my little future soccer player is in my belly making it jump around like crazy! I really love the kicking. Jeff has started to see it and feel it and it is so cool. He is enjoying that. The kicks are getting harder and harder and right now are great, except when the baby lands a hard right punch to my bladder and then it is an INSTANT trip to the bathroom... which is tough as a teacher! I am thankful for every punch to the bladder though!

How far along: 24 weeks (and a few days since I am late at posting once again)
Total weight gain: 11 lbs total (Dr's appt on Thursday... that number will go up... bittersweet)
Maternity clothes: Yes! I was so happy to go shopping and buy a few more things. I am so tired of wearing sweaters and layers and so ready to be in tshirts! I hope hubby understands that 2 tshirts and 3 tank tops are enough to get me through 3 1/2 more months of pregnancy, because yesterday he made the "but didn't you just buy some tshirts?" comment when we were in Target. Maybe I'll give him 5 shirts to wear every single day, every single week to see how he likes it. :)
Sleep: Decent, but getting tough to roll over and definitely getting up to pee at least once a night again.
Best moment of this week: The crazy movement and rolling and punching and kicking I've been feeling! That and picking out our furniture!
Miss anything: Running, wine (especially after the tough week I just had!), and a mouse-less house (not pregnancy related, but once again... what I am going through!)
Movement: Wheee doggie yes!
Food cravings: Fruit, BLT (on our menu for this week!), and ROOT BEER!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not as much! I did OK with the pieces of steak at The Melting Pot. Still can't do a big piece of meat, but meat overall is starting to be my friend again.
Have you started to show yet: Bigger and bigger each day!
Gender: Didn't find out! It will be a surprise!
Labor signs: Too early! I did have a Braxton Hicks or two this week, but nothing else. Stay in there sweet baby!
Belly button in or out: Still in, but very weird feeling, haha!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy! But I was definitely moody this week!
Looking forward to: Hearing the baby's heartbeat at my appointment on Thursday :) And buying the crib today.

A little late, but 23 weeks!

Let's face it, I will probably be late with each of my weekly update posts. That is OK as long as I still post! I want to be able to look back and remember this some day. This was an amazing week. We had our ultrasound! It was so amazing to see Charlie waving and moving around. We told the tech right away we didn't want to know if Charlie was a boy or a girl and he made sure that even he didn't look. Jeff was there and it was neat to see him experience a part of my pregnancy with him! He has been getting more excited and connected to the baby and to my pregnancy lately, and it is so nice. :) Baby looks great! He/She was 1lb 4oz and I am right on track for my July 4th due date! Ok... here is baby's 2nd picture (since the first was my first ultrasound!). This one is so amazing to see that this is a BABY and not a gummy bear!

How far along: 23 weeks
Total weight gain: 11 lbs total
Maternity clothes: Yes! And shopping on Monday for some springier, lighter clothes. I am so tired of heavy and layers!
Sleep: Decent, but getting tough to roll over. I think it is funny that if I rest my belly on the bed, the baby immediately starts to punch where my belly is resting.
Best moment of this week: Seeing the baby in my ultrasound!
Miss anything: Running, warm weather (though that is not because of the pregnancy... I just miss it!)
Movement: Yes ma'am!
Food cravings: Fruit, and this week I have been craving crackers with BLT salad on top
Anything making you queasy or sick: This week I have been pretty good. Tomorrow we are going to The Melting Pot with family and it will be interesting if I can handle being around all of the meat. I usually get the teryaki steak but I haven't been able to touch steak since the beginning of my pregnancy, so I don't know what I am going to do. Possibly just get chicken. It is already cut into pieces, so I MAY be OK with it. We will see! I just can't wait to go!
Have you started to show yet: More and more every day! Now my uterus is the size of a soccer ball, according to my pregnancy app and What to Expect
Gender: Still not finding out! :) Too late now, unless we have another ultrasound, and even then we will be so close I can just wait! Only 16 1/2 weeks to go!
Labor signs: Too early! I better not feel them for a while!
Belly button in or out: Still in, but very weird feeling, haha!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy! I am enjoying my 2nd trimester while I can... Only a few more weeks left in it!
Looking forward to: Shopping for more maternity clothes on Monday so I can actually wear something DIFFERENT

22 weeks (a bit delayed)

Wow I am 22 weeks! The weeks are flying by and I am definitely getting bigger! My pregnancy brain has been NUTS lately! Yesterday I walked out of my classroom 3 times without the item I needed. The other day I walked to the office (my classroom is the furthest from the office) and forgot why I walked all the way there. It makes things quite comical around here, I do have to say!

How far along: 22 weeks (at the time of the picture... now I am 22 weeks 3 days)
Total weight gain: 11 lbs total since my last appointment
Maternity clothes: Yes! Really looking forward to switching to some spring clothes once it warms up!  I am so tired of wearing bulky clothes!
Sleep: Decent, but getting tough to roll over
Best moment of this week: I was really nervous one day this past week because I hadn't felt a ton of movement all day, and that night I went to bed a few minutes before Jeff did to have some quiet time and see if I could feel movement. I turned out the lights and laid on my back. Not too long after I felt some beautiful, HARD kicks! I needed that. :)
Miss anything: Wine... I had a dream about it last week. I am not a drunk, but I do enjoy a glass of wine once in a while and I am missing it right now!
Movement: Yes ma'am!
Food cravings: Still fruit and fruit flavors, but I have also been craving root beer lately!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Jeff ate a steak when we went out to eat for his birthday and it was difficult to look at. Blech! And that is not something I would say before pregnancy... I'd be eating one right there with him!
Have you started to show yet: Ha... I feel like I am so big, and I know I am not huge yet!
Gender: Still not finding out! :)
Labor signs: Too early! I better not feel them for a while!
Belly button in or out: Still in, but very weird feeling, haha!
Wedding rings on or off: On and very loose! Trying to enjoy that for now!
Happy or moody most of the time: Mostly happy! I've noticed I haven't been as moody, although Jeff doesn't agree with that. Haha!
Looking forward to: My ultrasound on March 4th!
